Foundation at STARFEST - Festival for career and youth employment
Bosnia & Herzegovina Futures Foundation exhibited at the largest youth employment and career development expo in Sarajevo where over 2000 attendees were present. As part of the expo we ran a workshop “A guide to careers in the IT sector” and promoted the work of the foundation in developing young people.
The third edition of STARfest, the largest festival for career development and youth employment, was held Friday 5th of April in the large hall of the Skenderija Center in Sarajevo.
It was a great opportunity for 2,000 young visitors to learn more about career opportunities, trends in the labor market, jobs of the future and meet 100 top business leaders and experts, companies and organizations, through direct contact, 25 educational workshops, interesting discussions on the main stage and 60 exhibitors at the opportunity fair. They offered young people jobs, scholarships, education, internships, as well as advice for career development and continued education.
Our foundation was represented by our alumna Elvira Delić and junior scholar Adnan Ferhatović, who not only spoke to attendees but ran a special workshop “A guide to careers in the IT sector”. The workshop helps those who are interested in information technology, but are not sure what it takes to succeed in individual careers within this field. Through this workshop students gained Important tips for working in the IT sector, which faculties in Bosnia and Herzegovina have IT departments, what skills and knowledge are required, and what are the specific tasks and job descriptions for the following careers in the IT sector: Mobile Development, Frontend Development, Backend Development, Database Development, Cyber Security, QA Engineering, UX/UI Design, Embedded Systems, DevOps, Game Development, Data Engineering & Project Management.
